HURSTMONCEUX CASTLE, AND THE GHOSTLY DRUMMER.
This fine ruin is the remains of the only brick-built castle in England. It stands on the northern extremity of Pevensey level, in a slightly elevated position, and from its nearness to the sea, was, no doubt, a favourite resort of the smugglers.
